Sea Turtle

Meaning, Messages & Magic

Sea Turtle symbolizes longevity, peace, grounding, ancient wisdom, and emotional strength.

Turtle carries the world on its back, grounding it wherever it goes.

Turtle is determined and persistent as it slowly moves on land, steadily evolving physically.

By slowing down and pacing yourself you can endure the chaos of life’s transformational cycles with ease.

Turtle moves swiftly through water, learning to navigate its sensitivity to others’ emotions.

At times it can feel like an emotional tsunami as you navigate through the deep waters of the world’s emotions.

By practicing non-attachment, you can be at peace with your own path and appreciate all aspects of yourself.

Keeping a steadfast mind will bring confidence and calm to your emotional state, as well as peace and acceptance to your unique path.

I went to the Hudson River to pay my respect to Oshun and my ancestors by taking them flowers and released them. I stood there giving gratitude for the path that I was on and suddenly the water became smooth and informed the shape of a giant turtle. Not only that the flowers that were going downstream came back up as if the sea turtle was taken down to Oshun. I thought it was a salmon that took the flowers upstream because I doubted it what I saw before my eyes.

After living in Hawaii for 13 years I have found the Honu or sea turtle to be one of my dearest animal totems and have had then tattooed on me. I have had them not only in my dreams but they have consistently been popping up in my daily life, out of the blue. So I try and pay attention to the message it’s trying to give me.

I’ve just had a reiki session and apparently the lady who was doing it kept getting visions of lots of sea turtles….so now I’m researching their symbolism to try and make the connection with myself.

My daughter and I were recently in Maui and there were all these huge sea turtles sun bathing on the beach near our hotel. Lots of people were watching them. My daughter and were giving them a bit more space out of respect. We were in the water, sitting. It was a shallow cove. I swear to God this turtle saw us and slowly made its way off the beach past the people and started swimming right for us! He kept popping up his head to look at us . He was about a tennis court away. He swum all the way to us. I could have touched him. Sat there for about 20 seconds and just swam away. Magical!!!!

I was on a bridge like the ones in the Bahamas.. right over the water.. the water was tropical bright greens and blues… I turn around and see a green and brown sea turtle just hovering at first in the water. I run over the bridge to get a better look and when I got closer it slowly and calmly swam back out to sea.
